HAROLD LLOYD AT GRAND
The chief attraction on the new programme at the Grand Theatre today is Harold Lloyd’s first talking comedy "Welcome Hanger.” "Welcome Hanger” is all that the title implies. It is plentifully supplied with chilling thrills. And Lloyd, of course, is all that his name implies—uproarious comedy. In this initial all-talking production of the famous funster he will be seen as well as heard in the role of a timid youth, son of the San Francisco police
chief, who is plunged into the mauling swirl ef San Francisco’s underground Chinatown after friends of his deceased father draft him to clean up the criminals in hiding there. Their confidence that Harold is a chip oft the old block is badly shaken many times, but Harold finally emerges a hero after X series of rollicking and thrilling adventures.
Charming little Barbara Kent if Harold’s leading lady, with NoaH Young, Charles Middleton and William Walling, in supporting roles. Excellent supporting talkies will also be shown.
