MINISTER TO AFGHANISTAN. —

The new British Minister to Afghanistan, Mr. It. R. Maeonachie, reached Kabul on Sunday. HUMAN races on clocks. — Students of Hobart University this evening secretly gained access to the Post Office tower, which is 80ft high, and painted human faces on each of the four clock dials. When the clock was illuminated after dark the faces were seen all over the city. AIK MAIL BOXES.—Pillar-boxes for air mail correspondence only are to be provided for the London postal service. They will be painted blue to distinguish them from the red pillar-boxes used for ordinary letters. It has been decided to fix a few* of these air mail letter-boxes in the West End and in the City as an experiment.
