“CAPTAIN OF THE GUARD”
Charles Wakefield Cadman, America’s foremost composer, wrote the music for Universal's forthcoming production, “Captain of the Guard.” Cadman is the composer of such famous pieces as “At Dawning” and "Land of the Sky Blue Waters.” and the operas, “Shanewis” and “Witch Salem.” The story of “Captain of the Guard” was written by Houston Branch, and the dialogue by George Manker Watters. author of “Burlesque.” The story laid about 1791, deals with the life of Kouget de L’isle, composer of ,r La Marseillaise.” and the circumstances of the birth of the famous song of the French Revolution and of the Republic of France. “Dixiana.” an original operetta by Harry Tierney and Anne Caldwell, will be Radio Pictures’ initial effort in the field of wide-film stereoscopic entertainment. Be be Daniels is the featured artist. -
