PRINCE EDWARD
“Seven Bays’ Leave” will have its final presentation at the Prince Edward Theatre this evening. This is the splendid film version of Sir James Barrie’s famous play, “The Old Lady Shows Her Medals,” and concerns the pride of an old charwoman in having a son at the front in the person of a “hard-case” private of the Black Watch. Beryl Mercer gives a wonderful performance in the leading role, and is ably supported by Gary Cooper as the son Several bright supporting items are also being shown. Mae Clarke, Kenneth Mac Kenna and William Harrigan have been assigned leading roles in “A Very Practical Joke.” to be directed by Berthold Viertel from an adaptation of a story by Ben Ames Williams. Mac Kenna is at present playing the role of “Bulldog” Brummond in “Temple Tower.” William Harrigan and Mae Clarke were last seen in “Nix on Barnes.”
Wallace Beery, noted character actor of the screen, is an ardent hunter and fisherman.
