ON ELLERSLIE TRACKS
SCHOOLING THIS MORNING A quiet period pervades Eliersiie at j present, and but for a few jumpers improving their lepping ability there is little of interest transpiring at headquarters. This morning’s work was confined to schooling on the fiat. Sir Archie (J, Burgess) opening the ball by getting over four hurdles in approved style. He is settling down nicely, and may yet confuse those who have ruled him out as a jumping prospect. Scaramouche (J. Preston) led Twinkler (J. Burgess), and the St. Amans gelding (D. Craddock) over four fences. The first-named gave a safe and clean display, arid Twinkler is improving with every effort. Kamehamcha (R. Bennett) negotiated four hurdles evenly, and it was evident that he has lost none of his ability.
