ELIMINATED FROM LADIES’ GOLF ROUND PLAY Reed. 11.10 a.m. LONDON, Wed. Miss Hay, the last Australian left in the ladies’ golf championship, was beaten by a big margin today. Miss Glenna Collett (America) defeated Miss Molly Gourlay (Britain) at the 21st hole, after a great fight. The standard of play was high. Miss Millar beat Miss Hay B—78 —7 up. Survivors in the fifth round include Miss Collett also the 19-year-old American, Helen Hicks. The British players, Enid "Wilson and Diana Fishwick, ex-girl champion. MEN’S FOURSOMES Reed. Noon. LONDON, Wednesday. In the international golf foursomes at North Manchester, Mitchell and Compston defeated Kiegel and HortonSmith seven up in an 18-hole match.
