Mr. E. VV. Alison, jun., returned to '. uckland by tl:e Ulimaroa yesterday, after a trip to Australia. Mr. Vincent Ward was a passenger to Hamilton, eri route to Rotorua, by the Limited today. Dr. E. Marsden, head of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Rcbearch, is staying at the Star Hotel. Mr. G. G. Black. M.P. for Motueka, and Mr. T. W. McDonald, M.R. for AVairarapa, arrived by the express today. Mr. K. McVitty, formerly United States Consul in Auckland, who hiKi been occupying a similar position irr Malta, lias been transferred to Kenya Colony. Professor H. VV. Segar, of the Auckland University College, who has gone ,o Wellington to attend a meeting of the University Senate, expects to return to Auckland at the end of the week. Mr. H. C. Taylor has been appointed veterinary surgeon to the AVaiuku Farmers' Veterinary Club, and will begin his duties early in June.
