WHY MR. MARSH TOOK PART PRESSED BY STUDENTS Questioned in regard to Mr. Cutten’s statement that nothing was to be gained by such debates, ths Rev. W. Lawson Marsh informed a SUN representative this morning that as far as he was concerned he took no action until he was pressed to do so by University students who, at least, stopped the boast of the Rationalists that no one dared meet them. “I am content to leave it to the jud£- , ment of those who attended the debate as to whether, after all their braY* words, the Rationalists were willing to stand up to their own declarations acd their own publications.
