STRAND
LAST WEEK OF “PARIS” An entertaining story, spectacular revue scenes in colour and a strong element of humour are features of “Paris,” the Strand’s current attraction. The plot is built round the efforts of a Puritan American mother to prevent her son, an architect, marrying a Parisian actress. On her arrival in Paris to break off the match she succeeds in outraging the feelings of the actress and her son by the eagerness with which she enters into the delights of Paris. The climax comes when she becomes engaged to the actress's leading man, and the final untangling of the threads of the story comes with surprising rapidity. Irene Bordoni has the role of the French actress, Louise Closser Hale that of the Puritan mother, and Jack Buchanan that of the actress’s leading man. # The selection of shorter films includes a coloured scenic, a news reel, vaudeville items and a violin solo.
