MANGERE EAST CLUB CLOSE OF SEASON There Mas a large attendance of members of the Mangere East Croquet Club at the final day’s play of the season. held on Saturday. In addition to ordinary play, golf and “crazy croquet” competitions were indulged in. The former was won by Mrs. Burrett, and Mrs. Saussey won the latter. The members of the club will be the guests of the president. Mrs. Solomon. at an At Home to "be hold at her residence, Massey Road, Mangere, this afternoon. PONSONBY CLUB The annual meeting of the Ponsonbv Croquet Club was held on Saturday afternoon in the club pavilion. Mrs Gallaher, president, was in the chair, and there Mas a good attendance of members. The report and balance sheet showed the club to be in a most satisfactory position. Club competitions played during the season were won as follow: A club doubles, Mesdames C. E. Hardley and Smithers; runners-up. Mesdames Bell and Greenslade: club handiqap doubles, Miss Brown and Mrs. Johnston; rose bowl (challenge), Mrs. C. E. Hardley; runner-up, Mrs. Oswald; B champion. Mrs. Johnston; runner-up, Mrs. Horsley. A large number of our players entered for the Auckland Association, Whangarei, and Cambridge tournaments. The folloM’ing officers were elected for the coming season: President, Mrs. C. E. Hardley; vice-presidents. Miss Burton, Mesdames Torrance and Gail; lion, treasurer, Miss Brown; lion, secretary, Mrs. Torrance; general committee, Mesdames Hilton. Snedden, Oswald, Gallalier, Warnock. and Horsley; green superintendent. Mrs. Smithers; match committee, Miss Brown, Mesdames Hilton. Gallaher. Gall, and Horsley; tea committee, Mesdames Bell, Leonard. W. F. Hardley, Warnock, and Lonergan; delegates to the association, Mesdames C. E. Hardley and Oswald; auditors, Mrs. J. Torrance.
