CONCERT AT HENDERSON
Th« Henderson Musical and Dramatic Society presented its first entertainment for the season at the HenderTown Hall on Thursday evening. There was a good attendance, and a very high standard of programme was presented. The concert was opened with the glee “Come Where Flowers are Fling- ’ from Flotow's “Martha,” and the sang during tne evening .The Belfry Tower.” “Far Away,” “The \ lkings’ Song.” “Softly Fall the Shades of Evening” and “Departure.” one of Mendelssohn's works. Among the much appreciated items humorous recitations by Mr. who, appearing twice. was pressed for two encores on both occasions: Miss Parr sang, and Miss Skinner delighted the audience with two pianoforte solos, and la.ter with two vocal items. Miss Duckering was »S.S ored * or her humorous recitation. The Party.” and Mr. Hocking, who made his first appearance on this as conductor of the choir, sang -.i lrvana< ’ his encore number being ■Evening Song.” The evening was concluded with the sketch. “The Bathroom Door,” by members of the society.
