CHARGES WILL BE REDUCED Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Th« Postmaster-General announces the Inauguration as from Monday, May 12, of a direct radio telegraph service between New Zealand and Rarotonga (Cook Islands). Telegraph traffic at present is transmitted by Apia, and direct working will permit of charges for telegrams being reduced by the amount incurred for retransmission at Apia. In making the announcement, the Postmaster-General indicated that the ■rxevs service is in pursuance of the policy of the Government to extend nnd develop radio communication between New Zealand and her outlying islands and dependencies.
