PATIENT COLLAPSES
DEATH OCCURS IN SURGERY WELL-KNOWN SPORTSMAN While an anaesthetic was being administered to him in a dental surgery at Newmarket yesterday morning, Mr. Horace W. Reynolds, a well-known figure in Auckland Rugby football, collapsed and died. Mr. Reynolds, who had been suffering from ill-health for the past year, had been advised by his doctor to have his teeth extracted. The doctor had begun to apply the anaesthetic when Mr. Reynolds collapsed. The eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Reynolds, lie was born at Devonport 35 years ago and was a pupil of St. John’s College. Tamaki. After leaving school he joined the College Rifles Football Club. He was a popular member of the club, being a vice-president for a number of years. Fourteen years ago he became connected with the Liverpool and London and Globe Insurance Companv. of which he was chief clerk at the time of his death. Mr. Reynolds, who had no children is survived by his wife. _At an inquest opened before Mr. F. yesterday afternoon, evidence of identification was given. The inquest was adjourned till Monday,
