BIG SCENES IN “HIT THE DECK”
A mammoth chorus of Radio beauties disport themselves in the technicolour sequence of "Hit the Deck,” atop four huge navy guns and about the deck. The frolic ends with a mermaid number as a grand finale. Hundreds of players are used, in addition to the principals, Polly Walker, Broadway beauty; Jack Oakie. comedian; Roger Gray, Franker Woods, Marguerita Padula, Ethel Clayton, Wallace MacDonald. June Clyde and Harry Sweet. "Hit the Deck” was adapted to the screen from the stage play by the same name. The original 13 song numbers have been increased to IS in the screen version. Luther Reed, who is largely responsible for the success of Radio Pictures’ "Rio Rita,” directed Robert Jvurrle was cameraman.
