HISTORY OF STEAM CAR

LECTURE AT VARSITY The history of the steam car and some interesting facts concerning it were given by Mr. Abner Doble, in a laciure before the Engineering Society of the Auckland University College last evening. The lecturer, who has himself invented one type of the car, described the manner in which the initial construction difficulties had been overcome. He said he had recently driven in a steam car from Auckland to Wellington and he had found that the car used very little water during the trip and that the petrol consumption was no more than that of an ordinary car
