OVERHAUL’S PROGRAMME

Overhaul has been nominated for Loth. the Southland and IVanganui meetings,-but judging by the handicaps lie will do his racing at Invercargill, 'where ho has been leniently treated by the weight adjuster. Ilis form over hurdles was so good last year that he was entitled to tile 10 10 awarded him in the Century Hurdies at w anganui, but at Invercargill he is asked to carry only the same poundace m the Southland Steeples, which is not going to be a very hard race to win. Of course, Overhaul is wholly untried as a ’chaser, but if he reveals the same promise over the big country as he did over the smaller battens he is going to be a worthy contender for any minor steeplechase in the winter months. In view of his more important engagements ahead his form at the coming fixtures will be watched with much interest. PHAR LAP’S RIDERS Phar Lap will be ridden bv J. Pike in tne King’s Cup and by W. Elliott m the Elder Stakes in Adelaide.
