His Excellency the Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe will attend the Civic Theatre on Monday evening to 3 ee the British film, “Atlantic.” Their Excellencies visited the Jubilee Institute for the Blind this afternoon. Tomorrow, at noon, they will attend the opening meet of the Pakurangu Hunt. His Excellency will visit Carlaw Park tomorrow to witness the City v. Ponsonby football match. The Hon. A. J. Stallworthy returned xo Auckland today from Wellington. Mr. A. Spencer, president of the Auckland Employers’ Association, returned from Napier yesterday. Mr. Alfred Wyness has been appointed acting-Consul for Czechoslovakia at Wellington.—P.A. The Rev. Dr. J. J. North, principal n: the New Zealand Baptist College, left for Christchurch last evening. Dr. C. J. Keakes, Director-General of Agriculture, has returned to Wellington after visiting the Auckland district. Mr. A. E. Mander, general secretary of the Reform Party organisation, has returned to Wellington from Auckland. Mr. W. P. Endean, successful Reform candidate for the Parnell byelection, left Auckland today with Mrs. Endean for Rotorua, where he will spend a week’s holiday. M. le Comte do Gal ember t, a notable figure in French colonial administration, will visit Auckland next week, before leaving for Sydney by the TJlimaroa on May 16. M. de Galembert, who is the Chief Administrator of the French province of Indo-China, l»as been engaged in the colonial service there for the past 32 years.
