Women the World Over
CO-OPERATION The Women’s Institute movement in England has done much to assist the revival of beautiful embroideries for which England was once so famous. Recently a beautiful bedspread was worked by members of every county in England and Wales for presentation to Queen Mary. Her Majesty selected yellow to tone with the new yellow room at Windsor, and expressed a wish for a Queen Anne design. The diamond-shaped sections were distributed among skilled workers and were eventually returned to headquarters to be made up. The de sign was made by Miss Alice Ames, Handicraft Adviser to the National Federation of Women’s Institutes. STILL IN HER TEENS Although only in her teens, Mile. Vronsky, a Ukrainian girl, is musical to her finger-tips, and a bright future is predicted for her. She is at present solo-pianist with the London Sym phony Orchestra.
