GOLF FOR EVERYONE
WAIATARUA PARK SCHEME EXPERT TO MAKE REPORT Although other centres have municipal golf links, Auckland has not at present embarked upon a scheme of this kind. The idea of providing a course, however, is in the mind of the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon. A move has been made to utilise the new' urea at Remuera, Waiotarua Park, for this purpose. •'The park now has a road right round it,” said Mr. Baildon, “and we shall have to decide how we can best use the area. Naturally none of the council’s engineers can be expected to say a proper golf-course can be formed in the park, so I have arranged with an expert to make a thorough inspection of the property and report on the question whether it can be made suitable for golf or not. Until his report is received I am not in a position to say anything about vh&t is likely to bo done,’*-
