NOXIOUS WEEDS
“A NATIONAL PROBLEM” From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Wednesday. “So colossal is the problem that the setting up of tin-pot boards tp deal with it seems almost as absurd as it is useless,” said Mr. C. K. Wilson (Waitomo) at the Rural Counties’ conference in Hamilton today, referring to a proposal to establish boards for the eradication of noxious weeds. Unoccupied native and Crown lands v ere, he said, the greatest breedinggrounds for noxious weeds, and it would be futile to appoint boards for their eradication, while the Government remained the biggest offender. The problem was one for a national effort, and then the best they could hope for was to keep the weeds under control. No action was taken.
