MORRINSVILLE TROOP OF BROWNIES ENTERTAINED TO CELEBRATE BIRTHDAY

To celebrate the third birthday of the Morrinsville troop of Brownies, a birthday pax-ty was given by the members of the Guide Committee, in the Masonic Hall last week.

A happy time was spent in games and reading stories, and some of the Brownies sang Maori songs. Afternoon tea was served, pride of place being taken by a large cake on which were three candles. A present from Mrs. A. Bernstein was a basket of sweets made up in little bags in the Brownies’ colours, brown and gold, which were distributed by Mrs. A. M. Allen. The president of the committee, Mrs. Aitken, who was unable to be present, forwarded a letter of congratulations and three story books for the new library. Among those who assisted in the entertainment of the Brownies were the captain of the Girl Guides, Miss M. Allen; the Tawny Owl of the Brownies, Miss A. Jackson, and the following ladies of the committee: Mesdames C. M Gummer, A. M. Allen. J. J. Leales. F Hawkins, T. Martin, R. C. Branch. R. Echlin, H. Miller, B. R. Donaldson, G. E. Seville, G.
