CANTERBURY LIVE WIRE ASSOCIATION BUSINESS FOR CONFERENCE While the Auckland Owners’, Trainers" and Breeders’ Association is to all intents and purposes extinct, the Canterbury organisation is still very much alive to its objective. Members of the association have decided on a remit for the New Zealand Trotting Conference recommending alterations to Rule 135, which reads: “Every owner shall register his racing colours and shall not race a horse in colours other than his registered colours, or the registered colours of the trainer of his horse, except by permission of the stewards, which permission shall be granted only under special circumstances and upon payment of the sum of 10s for each time a horse' belonging to such owner starts in colours other than his own or his trainer’s registered colours; provided always that an owner having elected to race in his own or his trainer's registered colours, must race during the whole of the meeting in the colours he has so elected to race in; and provided always that should an owner fail to make an election on or before the acceptance of a horse the secretary of the club at which such horse is
