TAUMARUNUI BOROUGH
ESTIMATES APPROVED The Taumarunul Borough Council, at its monthly meeting, considered the estimates for the coming year, as submitted by the Mayor, Mr. C. A.. Boles. These showed the total estimated receipts as £ 24.540 16s lud, and the payments £26.135 19s 3d. '
The most noteworthy feature ot the new rates is an increase of ?,d in the general rate, and a reduction'of id in tlie hospital rate. The increase tn the general section is slightly offset further by reductions in minor departments. In future, a departure is to bo made in assessing rate amounts, as the general, special and hospital rates v.ill be levied in consolidated form.
