BEEF AT LATE RATES• From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Tuesday. Bidding was keen at the stock sale at Frankton today. There was a large attendance of buyers. Beef, which was yarded in good numbers, sold up to the rates of the previous week, although light steers tended to be a shade easier. The prices of the medium yarding of pigs showed a slight improvement. Sheep came forward in average numbers. Prime bullocks made up to £l3 10s; a line of choice bullocks averaged £l2 17s 6d; light fat steers, to £ll 12s Gd; best young cows and heifers, to £ S 12s Gd: ordinary fat cows, £6 10s to £8; inferior fat cows, £4 15s to £5 10s; heavy runners, to £5 8s; small calves, 30s; ordinary runners, £2 6s to £3 16s; forward Holstein bullocks, £lO 2s; Shorthorn bullocks, £8 11s to £9; P.A. weaner steers, £3 2s to £4 Is; well-grown P.A. and Hereford weaner steers, £5 12s; choice S.H. weaner steers, £4 2s; P.A. weaner heifers, £2 10s; prime heavy wethers, to 27s sd; light fat ewes, 15s 3d to 15s 6d; unfinished ewes, 12s 6d; M.S. woolly lambs, 15s; shorn lambs, 10s lOd; shorn ewes, 22s lOd; heavy baconers, £3 5s to £3 10s; medium, £2 18s to £3 2s; best porkers, £2 2s to £2 7s; light, £1 12s to £1 16s; choppers. £3 10s to £4 10s: large stores, £1 2s to £1 6s; slips, 15s to 18s; weaners, 8s to 12s 6 cl.
