DAYLIGHT EXPRESSES
TO RUN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR LOUNGE CAR PROVIDED In future the Main Trunk Daylight Limited expresses will run all the year round, instead of in summer only. This has been announced by the general manager of railways. Mr. IT. H. Sterling. As a fast method of transit, affording a view of the scenery these trains have proved exceptionally popular. Since the growth of the tourist traffic to and from the National Park, the Daylight Limited has gained many n;ore passengers. National Park station is the crossing-place of tlie two Daylight Limited expresses, which connect it with Auckland and Wellington by easy half-day runs, and passengers are enabled to see some of tlie most attractive scenery on the Main Trunk line. An armchair or lounge car lias been provided on each train for the comfort of passengers. The department has also detailed a porter to keep the carriages tidy by dusting the seats, removing waste-paper, providing clean towels, and so on.
