DOMINION SHOULD BE ADVERTISED OIL MAN’S OPINION Mr. E. A. Beverly, managing director of tlie Texas Company (Australasia), Ltd., in Australia, was a passenger from Auckland by the Aorangi yesterday. Mr. Beverley, who was accompanied by his wife and daughter, made a brief tour of tlie North Island, during which time he visited a number of the principal centres, where his company is engaged in business, and also the thermal districts of Wairakei and Rotorua. Mr. Beverley was greatly impressed with the natural beauty of New Zealand and felt that much wider publicity should be given to its attractions to stimulate the interests of tourists. In comparison with prevailing conditions in Australia he felt that New Zealand was in a much more fortunate position and that from -a general standpoint business was on a sound basis in this country. He was of the opinion that in Australia the depression would continue for a considerable period, but that the natural resources of the country would finally place it on a prosperous footing. Mr. Beverly is transhipping from the Aorangi at Honolulu for steamer to Los Angeles, where he will visit the Texas Company’s refineries and othei interests in California before proceeding to New York. He anticipates that he will return to Australia within a few months and hopes to be able to again visit New Zealand en route.
