GARDEN FAIR The residents of Manawaru held a most successful “Garden Fayre” at Mr. L. Clark’s residence, which attracted a large and enthusiastic attendance. Good business was done by the stallholders. Various games were played, and a musical programme given by the Te Aroha Municipal Band. “The tugs of war resulted in Manawaru scoring from Mangaiti, and Marten’s team defeating Manawaru. QUEEN CARNIVAL The difference existing between the Thames Valley Agricultural and Pastoral Association and the Te Aroha Jubilee Committee over the percentage of to be allotted to each from the profit of the Queen Carnival now bids fair to being righted in the near future. A public meeting on" Thursday, evening" deeided that the people of Te Aroha take stejjs to elect a carnival queer, and the following committee, with power to add to its number, was appointed:—Messrs. W. C. Ivennedv, 1,. Mackie, G. Walsh, J. L. Barlow, A. D. Wallace, j. Heatheote, F. Halligan and L. v. Fitzpatrick.
