WEDDING AT MANGAWHARE
SILVER EMBROIDERED LACE GOWN WORN BY BRIDE WARMINGTON-SEYMOUR Some 250 guests attended the wedding, which was a very pretty one, of Estella Mary (Essie), second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Seymour, of Turiwiri, and Lindsay Eunice, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Warmington, of Te Koauru, at the Sacred Heart Church, Mangawhare, on Wednesday last. The Rev. Father W. Van Westeinde officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired in a frock of silver embroidered lace, with uneven hem, hip bow and cape collar. Her ivory embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms and she carried a beautiful bouquet of white chrysanthemums, roses and maidenhair fern. Aliss Gwen Seymour (sister of the bride) and Aliss Sadie Warmington (sister of the bridegroom) were bridesmaids. The former wore a dainty frock of pink crepe de chine with embroidered cape collar and scalloped laco hem, and the latter a pretty frock of green crepe de chine with double accordion pleated scalloped skirt and capo collar. Both also wore tulle head dresses to tone with their frocks, and carried bouquets of cactus dahlias and autumn-tin ted chrysanthemums. A niece of the bridegroom, Colleen Groom, was flower-girl, and wore a pretty frock of lemon crepe de chine with ruched hemline, relieved with mauve, and head-band of lemon tulle. She carried a posy of mauve and lemon flowers, with streamers to match. The little page boy, Raymond Eggers, nephew of the bridegroom, wore a suit of blue velvet.
Air. Edgar Warmington was best man and Air. Desmond Seymour groomsman.
The guests were afterward received by the bride’s mother, who wore a beige accordion-pleated repp dress, with biscuit crepe de chine coat with, fringe, and hat to tone, at the Hibernian Hall, where the reception was held. The bridegroom’s mother wore a frock of navy celanese, relieved with beige and hat to tone. Both carried bouquets. In the evening at the residence of the bride’s parents a fitting windup to the wedding festivities in the form of cards and a dance was held. The attendance of guests and friends was again very large.
