BRITISH RUGBY JERSEY
DARK BLUE AND GOLD CHOSEN MAY CAUSE CONFUSION /Press Association o WELLINGTON, Monday. A dark blue jersey, with a badge of three gold lions on the breast, and white shorts, will be the uniform worn by the British Rugby team, which is due to arrive in Wellington on May 14. As the team includes players from all over the United Kingdom, it is possible that this colour has been chosen in preference to that of any of the individual countries of England, Scotland, Wales, or Ireland. At the same time, the point arises that there will be difficulty in distinguishing players in matches with the New Zealand team, whose uniform is the all-black jersey with the silver fern. An even greater difficulty will arise in the Otago match, for the Otago colours are also dark blue. It is understood that this was pointed out to the visitors, but dark blue was still chosen.
