SCARLET FEVER PREVALENT RETURNS FOR APRIL Scarlet fever was the most prevalent disease during- the month of April, but was closely followed by diphtheria and tuberculosis. In the Central Auckland Health District a total of 124 infectious cases were notified, including scarlet fever 44, tuberculosis 22, diphtheria 20, pneumonia 9, puerperal fever 16. In the South Auckland district 77 cases were reported, including scarlet fever 23, tuberculosis 21, diphtheria 20. In the North Auckland district 49 cases were reported, including scarlet fever 15, tuberculosis 10, pneumonia 10, diphtheria 6, and in the Thames-Tauranga district 19 cases, consisting of scarlet fever 11, tuberculosis 4 and pneumonia
