SALES IN SYDNEY

POOR DEMAND FOR BLOOD STOCK Unusually dull conditions at the Sydney sales were reported by Mr. C. Emanuel, who returned to Auckland this morning on the Makura. "Things are very bad,” he said. "Yearlings were given away. The stuff was there, just as good as ever, but no one seemed to' have any money to buy.” Mr. Emanuel received an offer of 700 guineas for his colt, half-brother to Royal Tea, but- would not sell at that price. The colt will remain in Sydney, and is to be raced there. The highest price of the sale was 2,000 guineas.
