WITH SABRES DRAWN

POLICE WOUND TWELVE IN SPANISH CROWD EXILE RETURNS MADRID, Friday. There was a crowd of about 10,000 people at the railway station to greet Senor Unamuno, a former rector of Salamanca University, who was exiled during the dictatorship. After his arrival he addressed a meeting of Republicans. The crowd cheered wildly. Some shouted: “Long live Unamuno! Down with Alfonso!” A bugle was immediately sounded, and police, mounted and on foot, charged with drawn sabres. Twelve persons were wounded.
