ROAD IMPROVEMENTS

MELLON'S BAY DEVIATION The road on the north-west side of the Stockade Hill Reserve, Howick, is to be graded, metalled and brought into permanent use, according to a decision of the Howick Town Board. The change will be made during tho excavation work on the main road on the township side of the hill. It is intended to start the work ip Mav. Tho new deviation, about five chains in length, will be metalled to a width of 18ft. It will be of considerable benefit to the Mellon’s Bay district in the future, as it will provide a straight rim through on tho higher level, and will eliminate a bad corner on the lower grade at Crawford s bus garage.
