AUSTRALIAN WOOL SEASON
LARGE QUANTITY STORED The National Council of Wool Selling Brokers of Australia has compiled the following statement of the 1929-30 wool season from July 1 to March 31 last, -compared with last season, as follows:
The sales of 1929-30 had, in addition, 36,650 bales of previous year’s clip carried over, arid to the quantity held in store at March 31-last must be added 2,386 bales of 1925-29 clip awaiting disposal. The 1928-29 -returns had sales additional to those disposed of as set out above, a holdover from 1927-28 of 27,568 bales, and, in addition to the quantity held in store at March 31, 1929, there were 969 bales 1927-28 clip carried over and awaiting disposal. The average price realised over all centres for wool during last, March was 9.10 d a lb and the average value of a bale was £ll 9s.
