M. BROWNLIE IN CITY
ALL BLACK CAPTAIN’S VISIT ENGAGEMENT TO GISBORNE GIRL Maurice Brownlie, the well-known Hawke’s Bay footballer, and captain of the All Blacks in South Africa in 1928, has been visiting: Auckland, and until this morning was at the Grand Hotel. Mr. Brownlie, who has a sheep farm at Franortown. East Coast, will be playmg Rugby in W airaoa this season It is understood that he will be available for the All Blacks if selected His engagement was recently announced to Miss M. Barker, daughter of Mr. H. W. Barker, of Gisborne, who is a member of a prominent Poverty Bay pastoral family. Mr. and Mrs. Barker, their daughter and their son. Mr. R. Barker, have also at the Grand Hotel. They left for the South in their car this morning. 59
