CATHOLICS ORGANISE SUCCESSFUL DANCE FOR CHURCH FUNDS
MANUREWA FUNCTION The Manurewa Picture Theatre was the scene of an enjoyable dance on Tuesday evening. The proceeds are to be devoted to the Manurewa Catholic Church funds. An enjoyable programme of dance music was provided by KiddelFs orchestra. Mr. Peguero fulfilled the duties of master of ceremonies. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss Halls and Mr. Peguero, and the balloon dance by Miss H. Smith and Mr. C. Dunn. Among those present were: Mrs. B. Pegaro, wearing a frock of black satin earreau, relieved with chenille lace: Madame Frost, whose frock was of unrelieved black georgette; Mrs. Millar. frock of ashes of roses ray de chine, Mrs. J. Wood, black georgette frock; Mrs. W. Walters, whose black velvet frock was relieved with georgette and oriental trimming; Mrs. C. Robertson, apricot georgette; Mrs. Young, wineberry velvet, relieved with pearl trimming; Mrs. F. Marshall, electric blue georgette; Miss G. Booker, ivory georgette frock; Miss D. Attarbury, orange georgette with trimmings of sequins; Miss Queen Kiniber, pretty frock of black lace, with sequin trimming; Miss Pearl Kimber. frock of ashes of rose frilled crepe de chine; Miss Freda Jowett, embossed rose chenille; Miss Halls, almond green georgette frock; Miss K. Xoble, frock of lemon georgette; Miss Xance Dempsey, apricot crepe de chine with relief of silver; Miss H. Smith, frock of lichen green satin and georgette; Miss AT. Donelan, floral velvet. Miss Helen Marshall, flared frock of floral silk; Miss F. Farrer, frock of salmon pink ray de chine; Miss Diana Lodge, rose crepe de chine; Miss Pearl Robertson, cherry crepe de chine, trimmed with embroidered tulle.
