CRASH INTO POLE
MOTOR-CYCLIST RECEIVES FATAL INJURIES DEATH AT HOSPITAL Fatal injuries were received by Arthur Janies married, aged 29, leading signaller on H.M.S. Dunedin, when the motor-cycle on which he was riding crashed into a telegraph pole at the intersection of King Edward Avenue and Cheltenham Road, Devonport, shortly before three o’clock yesterday afternoon. It is believed that the accident was caused through Halliday’s machine skidding. The injured man was picked up in an unconscious condition and removed to the Auckland Hospital, where he died at six o'clock this morning. An inquest was opened before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., this morning, and after identification of the body, was adjourned sine die.
