A LEAN PERIOD WAVERLEY TRAINER’S TEAM A LIKELY FOUR-YEAR-OLD TIIO Waverley trainer, J. Heginbotham, is not having much success of late at the trotting game and his team must cause him great concern. The promising Sailor Boy, who has a fine turn of speed when ho elects to use it, has been costly to his party this year. The Man-o’-War gelding looked the part at Hawera and may have had a reasonable chance of paying a second dividend the first day in the mile had the false start not occurred. After ho lost Tv. Berkett’s services, Sailor Boy was very irritable whdn J. Shaw took the ribbons, but the Epsom horseman displayed patience and finally got the pacer into third berth Sailor Boy Sour Next day ho was all to pieces again and ran accordingly. Daphne Locanda showed no form at all during the recent meetings and seems a hopeless proposition. But Heginbotham produced a promising novice at New Plymouth in Lady Coronado, a four-year-old by Prince Coronado from an unknown mare. In the 3.39 improvers’ handicap the Waverley mare was responsible for the warm pace set for a mile and when headed off toward the finish showed resolutness. Next season Lady Coronado should score at some 'of the smalls. •
