PAPATOETOE WELFARE LEAGUE

The Welfare League met last evening, Mr. A. J. E. Closey presiding. Advice was received from Air. F. AI. Waters, tho district representative on tho Auckland Electric-Power Board, that tho plans oC the new offices in Papatoetoe fire now completed, and tenders will be called immediately after the next meeting of the board. Advice was received from Air. A. W. Hall, M.P. for Hauraki, that the question of alterations to the Papatoetoe post office was at present in the hands of the Public Works Department. Plans had been approved, and it was probable that the work would be commenced in the near future. It was decided to ask the Papatoetoe Town Board to instal extra lights at the western end of Hillcrest Road, St. George Street (between Landscape Road and Wallace Road), Peverill Crescent, and Kolmar Road. On the recommendation of tho chairman, it was agreed that the executive wait on tho Papatoetoe Town Board and urge tho necessity of procuring sewer outfalls. It was decided that representatives of the league wait on the town board and urge the necessity of purchasing a central site for the erection of a public library and municipal chambers. „ .
