RUAPEHU, NGAURUHOE AND TONGARIRO TWO YOUNG MEN’S EXPLOIT From Our Own Correspondent PUKEKOHE, Today. By climbing Mount Ruapehu, Mount Ngauruhoe and Mount Tongariro on Friday last In 13 hours 35 minutes, two young men broke the previous record oC 16 hours 30 minutes. The record-breakers were Mr. Bert Cowan, son o£ Sergeant J. T. Cowan, o£ Pukekohe, and Mr. Stanley Biss, of Auckland. Both are in the State Forestry Department. It is stated that the previous record was established by two guides from the Chateau at National Park, and that the climb had only been made once previously. Mount Ruapehu is 9,175 ft in height. Mount Ngauruhoe 7,515 ft and Mount Tongariro 6,458 ft.
