AUCKLAND’S AVIATRIX
PASSED “A” LICENCE TESTS THIS MORNING FIVE PUPILS SUCCESSFUL Auckland’s first aviatrix is Miss Ina Wight, of Cheltenham. Together with five other pupils of the Auckland Aero Club, she was successful in the tests.
carried out at the Mangere Airdrome this morning, for the pilot’s “A” licence. Miss "Wight is the first woman member of the Auckland Aero Club to secure her pilot’s licence, and in the flights this morning she put up a most creditable performance. Although there was a cold nip in the aii, flying conditions were much better than they have been for some day&, and all of the five pupils did exceptionally well. Squadron-Leader L. M. Isitt observed the tests, and the five pupils granted licences were: Miss Ina Wight, Messsr. G. R. C. MacMillan, V. Pheasant. J. Eddleston, Potter, and K. Ms Carter.
