WOMEN’S HOCKEY

MATCHES FOR SATURDAY EXECUTIVE MEETING Notice was given at the executive meeting of the Auckland Ladies’ Hockey Association that this year the rule concerning the size and weight of players’ sticks would be strictly enforced, also that any team attempting to use a ball not freshly painted white would be fined, and any players attired in anything but registered team uniform would be required to leave the playing field until correctly attired. It was reported that Mr. A. W. Scott (Wellington) had accepted the position of delegate to the New Zealand Ladies’ Hockey Association. The Thames Ladies’ Association was granted affiliation, and the appointment of Mrs. Haynes as its delegate was approved. The colours of the Manurewa, Ngaro and Papatoetoe Clubs were approved. It was decided that the new trophy presented by Mr. Gage Brown (patron) be allocated to the runners-up team in the junior grade knock-out championship, played at the conclusion of ordinary championship games, and the new cup presented by Miss P. If. Dawson (chairman of executive) be allocated in the same manner in the senior grade. It was resolved to present life members’ badges to Mrs. W. Fuller and Mrs. R. Cowan. Epsom Girls’ Grammar School, 1.30 p.m.; St. Cuthbert’s v. Diocesan High School. 2 p.m., B section: St. Cuthbert’s Old Girls v. University, 2.30 p.m.; Training College B a bye.
