GIRL DRIVER KILLED FATALITY AT OHAUPO Press Association TE AWAMUTU, Wednesday. A shocking fatality occurred at Ohaupo this afternoon, when Miss Frances Elizabeth Jary, aged 21, was killed through the overturning of a farm motor-tractor which she was driving. Miss Jary was assisting her father, Mr. Frank Pary, to harrow a recentlyploughed field. She was driving the tractor and trailing the harrows behind. It is thought that the harrows caught on a piece of timber, causing the tractor to capsize backward, crushing the driver. Although several men were working in the paddock, the accident was not witnessed, and attention was first attracted by the fact that the engine had stopped. The tractor was then noticed with the front wheels in the air. When she wais extricated Miss Jary was still holding the steering wheel and brake lever in. the normal driving positions. Death was Instantaneous. The tractor was working on flat country and there was no apparent cause of the accident, except that a short piece of timber was found near the harrows.
