NEW REGENT
LAST DAYS OF ‘ DYNAMITE” “Dynamite,” now in its last days at tho New Regent Theatre, is the 55th picture of Cecil B. De Mille, but it is nis first talking production, and his first for Metro-Gold wyn-Mayer release. It is a romance of an heiress and a. coal mirier. It contains a “wild party,” and a country club sequence; and it is also equipped with the most spectacular mine explosion ever filmed. The principals aro Conrad Nagel, Kay Johnson, Charles Bickford and Julia Faye. Full supporting items complete the programme. Richard Dix, in thinking of the title of hfis latest Paramount picture, thought it best to haye a couple of leading ladies on whom to practise his love philtres. Tho title is “The Love Doctor,” and it is quite by accident that Dix falls into this line of business. He is a doctor without patients, a state of affairs that ho finds it very easy to have. However, there comes a time when a patient determines to try out his skill, and the only complaint he is suffering from is being in love. However, Dix is right at home curing him, and is assisted in his cure by two beautiful ladies. First there is June Collyer, whom he uses as a foil for the other girl, trapping her, and finds the game going that far, that he falls in love with Miss Collyer himself, and proceeds to make a great mess of things. The other young lady is Miriam Seega-r. who thinks that Dix is the man for her. He is not of the same mind, and so things begin to happen. “The Love Doctor” will be seen at the Regent Theatre next Saturday. The second big talking attraction tomorrow, “Love Comes Along,” is a splendid romantic tale of South America and a stranded chorus girl. Bebe Daniels repeats her success of “Rio Rita” in the leading role and sings a number of new songs.
