PALM COURT RESTAURANT
The Palm Court Restaurant at the Regent Theatre has already achieved wide popularity for light refreshments and meals on all occasions. A recent innovation is the Palm Court Trio, instrumentalists who will play tuneful melodies at the restaurant in the evenings and during the after-theatre supper period. Tom Moore, who with Blanche Sweet played in Metro-Cold wyn-Mayer's “Woman Racket,” says that night life drama is different from the old days. “The first role of this type I played.” he says, “was in a hired dress suit, in front of a painted canvas drop and two artificial palm trees. They gave us imitation champagne made by dropping baking soda into sour water.” James Hall was playing in musical comedy on Broadway when Jesse L. Lasky, first vice-president of Paramount Famous Lasky Corporation in charge of production, offered him his first movie contract.
