TAXI MAN MURDERED
SHOT FROM BEHIND AND LEFT IN CAR MYSTERY IN VICTORIA MELBOURNE, Tuesday. Horace Walpole, aged 36, a taxicab driver, was found murdered in his car between Queenscliffe and Geelong. He was well known on the taxi ranks at Geelong. Walpole was engaged for a trip last night, since when he had been missing. He was shot from behind, the bullet entering his head. The body was covered with a rug. Robbery was not the motive of the crime as money was found in the victim’s pockets.
