A BOUQUET OF ROSEBUDS AND CHRYSANTHEMUMS

WHELAN—GOMAS St. Alban’s Church, Dominion Road, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Wednesday evening, when Emily Mavis, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs- W. Gomas, of Sandringham, was married to William Groves, only eon of Mr. and Mrs. W. Whelan, of Mount Eden. The Rev. Mr. Greenwood performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Air. S. Gomas, wore a frock of white chenille georgette with georgette flounces forming an uneven hemline. An embroidered tulle veil which formed a train, was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of white roses and chrysanthemums. Aliss Dorothy Gomas, sister of the bride, and Aliss Kay Whelan, sister of the bridegroom, were bridesmaids. They wore pastel pink satin and mauve satin respectively, with tightfitting bodices, and long flared skirts dipping at the back and scalloped into a transparent mauve tulle hem. A mauve satin bow defined the waistline. They wore large velvet picture hats to match their frocks, and carried bouquets of pink roses and mauve cactus dahlias with maidenhair fern. Little Yvonne Gomas, niece of the bride, was flower girl, dressed in pale blue silk net, with handkerchief skirt trimmed with white satin ribbon and diamente, and blue net poke bonnet. She carried a gold basket of mauve flowers. Air. Frank Sanft was best man. and Air. Cyril Gomas, brother of the bride, was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents*, 31 Lancing Road, Sandringham, where the decorations were carried out ia pink and mauve. Above the bridal party was suspended a large white wedding bell. Airs. Gomas received her guests wearing a blue floral velray frock with a blue felt hat. She carried a bouquet of autumn shaded flowers. Airs. Gomas, grandmother of the bride, wore black satin and lace. Airs. W. Whelan was in a mauve shot taffeta frock and grey felt hat. She carried a bouquet to tone.
