Remuera Wedding of Interest

Miss Heather Bews has Pretty Evening Ceremony

A Profusion of Flowers

PALE pink and white chrysanthemums, lovely blue hydrangeas and trails of asparagus fern made very charming decorations at St. Luke s Church. Remuera, last evening for the wedding of Miss Heather Gordon Bews. eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. "Wallace Bews. “Strathcoma," Seaview Road, Remuera, to Mr. Colin McFarlane Gordon, only son of Mr. and Mrs. 8. J. Gordon, of Fendaltou, Chi'istehurch.

The ceremony, which was of interest to a very large circle of friends throughout the Dominion, was performed by the Rev. J. A. Thompson, and Air. G. Wallace Bews gave his daughter away. All*. Kenneth Phillips was at the organ. Exquisite ivory chenille embossed chiffon, moulded to the figure, fashioned the bridal gown, which was very graceful . in its simplicity. The petalled hgm of the flared skirt dipped to the bride's ankles at the back, and a bow of ivory faille finished the frock at the waistline. Of ivory go3samsr tulle, the veil was arranged with a juliet cap of orange blossom buds, and the shower bouquet was of white flowers, with just a touch of pale pink. Aliss Kathleen Bews attended her sister as chief bridesmaid, and Aliss Jean Goudie, a cousin of the bride, was the other maid. Their unusually pretty frocks were of patterned chiffon in autumn tones with pointed hemlines, and their shower bouquets were of exactly matching tones. Each maid wore a quaint cap of gold lace and rculet embroidery. As flowergirl, little Jean AtcKenzie, cousin of the bride, wore a pretty rosebeige georgette frock. made with a bertha collar appliqued with tiny gold flowers. She carried a gold basket of flower petals. Air. F. L. G. West attended the bridegroom as best man, and Air. Strachan Harris was groomsman. Acting as ushers were Dr. Macky, Mr. R. F. Johnson, Air. lan Bews, Air. Jack Gordon, All*. R. Purdom, Mr. C. Fair, and Mr. F. McCallum. After the ceremony Mr. and Airs. G. Wallace Bews received the guest:* at their home, “Strathcona,” Seaview Road, Airs. Bews wearing a gown of black georgette and fuchsia embroidered lace, with smart little black cape lined with fuchsia chiffon. Her bouquet was of toning flowers. Airs. S. J. Gordon, mother of the bridegroom, wore a black georgette gown, with wrap of cherry and gold chenille and carried a bouquet to tone. Mrs. F. E. AlcKenzie, sister of the brid ( e, was gowned in a very charming model of lacquer red georgette. Airs. Russell E. Chester, London, wore a wine coloured lace and chiffon frock. A pretty frock of cedar rose georgette was chosen by Airs. lan Bews. Bowls of hydrangeas made a wonderful display in the reception hall and rooms* and the tables in the din-ing-room were arranged with pale pink chrysanthemums and carnations. The ballroom, where the guests spent a happy evening dancing, was brightly festooned with coloured streamers and greenery.
