GRAND
Richard, Arlen appears in “The Man I Love,” the talkie now at the Grand Theatre. This picture is especially notable for the theme song, “Celia,” an attractive number of the type that has been proving popular of late. The film is interpreted by a well-selected cast, which contains many names well known to picture patrons. Mary Brian makes an admirable heroine, and she is ably supported by Baclanova, the well-known Russian actress, and Jack Oakie and Harry Green, two vaudeville artists who have recently become prominent for their work in talking pictures. The popular and vivacious Clara Bow has the leading role in “Dangerous Curves,” which is the second attraction. Miss Bow portrays a new type of character in this picture, in which she is cast, not as the light-hearted flirtatious “flapper” of her former successes, but as a serious-minded, hardworking circus girl. She is ably supported by a talented cast, which includes Richard Arlen, Kay Francis and David Newell.
