FRANKTON STOCK SALE

PRICES SLIGHTLY LOWER At the Frankton stock sale yesterday there was a larger yarding of beef than usual and prices were generally lower than last week, with the exception of some choice lots, which sold at late rates. We sold choice medium - weight bullocks at up to £l3 ss; small prime bullocks, £lO 14s: one two-year fat steer. £9 12s 6d; one prime runner. £5 12s 6d; average runner, £4. There was an average yarding of store cattle, which sold at late rates. Grown bullocks, £9 15s; two and three-year Shorthorn steers, £7: 17 P.A. 18-months steers, £7; 11 Hereford IS-month steers, £6 8s: eight Shorthorn yearling steers, £4-173; boner cows, £3 to £3 15s; dairy cows, to £9; springing heifers, £8 15s. £9 ss. to £9 10s. Fat sheep sold at slightly lower prices than last week. Prime wethers, 265; prime fat ewes, at up to 15s; woolly fat lambs, 225; store woolly, 11s 9d; 180 full-mouth ewes in lamb, 17s 4d; forward wethers, 20s to 21s 9d; light fat wethers, 24s sd. There was a large yarding of both fat and store pigs. Fats sold equal to previous sale. Heavy baconers, £3 3s to £3 8s; medium baconers, £2 16s, £3: heavy porkers. £2 2s to £2 8s; light porkers. £1 15s to £1 ISS; choppers, £3 36s to £6: large stores, £1 5$ to £ 1 8$ 6d; slips, 14s to ISs; weanevs, 10s to 12s; small ditto, 7s to 9s.
